The congress on Solar Energy “Energy of the Future” was held on October 4th, 5th and 6th 2006 within the scope of the Renewable Energies Exhibition (III Feria de Energías Renovables y Tecnologías del Agua) at the Exhibition Centre Roquetas de Mar, in Almería, Spain.

Aside from the current legislation in the sector, such as the new building regulation “Código Técnico de Edificación (CTE)” and the Energy Plan of Andalusia “Plan Energético de Andalucía (PLEAN)”, the congress informed about the latest solar technologies used to heat up water and support the heating system in individual and apartment houses. Further on, the event concentrated on the possibilities of using solar energy in industrial and public buildings as well as for air conditioning.

In addition, this congress gave insights on the planning, realisation and management of thermal and photovoltaic solar power stations, focusing on the legal situation, technical aspects, financing possibilities and gave examples of practical experiences.
